Baby wrap cross carry (outside)

The Wrap Cross Carry

The Front wrap cross carry (outside) is a variation of the traditional carrying position. It is nice and easy for stretchy wraps like the micro-fleece slings. Using this carrying position, you can show off the decorative panels on the designer fleece wraps.

1. Using the label as a guide, place the middle of the baby sling around your waist, with the two ends behind you. It forms a belt where you will slide the baby.

2. Bring the right end side of the baby sling behind you back and over your left shoulder.

3. Do the same thing on the other side.

4. The wraparound sling forms a cross on your back. Make sure the fabric is evenly spread out and not twisted.

5. Now, this is where this carrying position differs from the standard Front Wrap Cross Carry. Bring the two ends of the wrap sling inside the belt. Again, pull on the sling and make sure the fabric is evenly spread out.

6. Cross the two ends of the baby sling: bring the right end on your left and the left end on your right. This will form a cross where the baby will sit.

7. Bring the two ends of the baby sling behind your back or on your hip and tie loosely.

8. Lower the belt so that the fabric cross is free.
Now bring your baby up, resting her on your left shoulder. Slide her right leg through the fabric cross and under the belt.

10. You can see how the belt is lowered so that you can easily adjust the rest of the sling fabric.

11. Adjust the wraparound sling by spreading one side of the fabric evenly along your baby's back and legs.

12. Then spread out the other side of the fabric.
Double check the position of the baby: her bottom should be at the level of your navel, her legs wide apart and the fabric belt spread from her thighs to her neck. Her knees should be slightly higher than her bottom. The fabric of the baby sling should be tight enough to support her back.

14. Adjust the knot you did originally, tightening it if need be.
And off you go!

Top tips:

• Be sure the wrap is secured with a double knot and you're ready to go!
• Tie the wrap on your hip, it can be more comfortable, especially if you're seating down (in the bus...).
